Crime Stoppers needs you to help solve a burglary.  Sometime between late afternoon on July 21st and early morning on July 22nd, unknown persons broke into Three Way Pattern located at 1623 S. McComas Street by cutting a hole in the wall near a back corner of the building.  The burglars were able to make off with a large amount of aluminum bars and stainless steel metal valued at around $15,000.  Damage to the building is estimated in the thousands.

CRIME STOPPERS CASE #829

FOR THE WEEK JULY 20TH, 2008

Crime Stoppers needs your help in solving a robbery of the Taco Shop at 6825 East 21st Street North.  Late in the evening on July 1st, employees at the business were closing up when two women came in the restaurant acting like they wanted to order some food.  When the manager told them that the business was closed, the women pulled out guns and separated her from the rest of the employees.  The older robber ordered the manager to empty the registers and the safe, while the younger one kept the other employees corralled at the back of the restaurant.  The suspects then ran out the back of the business with the cash and the employees’ cellular phones.

The first suspect is described as a black female in her 40’s, 5′2″ with a medium build.  She was wearing black pants and a multi-colored surgical cap, armed with a black semiautomatic handgun.

The second suspect is described as a black female in her late teens, 4′11″ with a thin build.  She was wearing a black shirt, black jeans, and black du rag, armed with a silver colored revolver handgun.

CRIME STOPPERS CASE #828

FOR THE WEEK JULY 13TH, 2008

The Wichita Police Department needs your help in solving a robbery.  In the afternoon on July 1st, two men entered T P Smoke Shop at 913 East Harry and asked the clerk for some cigars.  When the clerk told them that the business did not carry cigars, one of the suspects threw acid on her.  The suspects ran off with cash from the register and several cartons of cigarettes.  The clerk received burns to her face and chest.

Both suspects are described as black males in their 20’s or 30’s.  One of them was wearing an orange dress shirt and khaki pants.

CRIME STOPPERS CASE #827

FOR THE WEEK JULY 6TH, 2008

Crime Stoppers needs your help in solving a residential robbery.  On the morning of June 10th, a man and woman living in the 1600 block of North Bluff were getting ready for breakfast.  The woman noticed that a vehicle had been parked backwards in their driveway for some time, so she asked her boyfriend to go see who it was.  As he went to the door, two armed men rushed into the house and forced him to the floor.  The female was able to escape out of the back door.  One of the robbers held the man at gunpoint while the other unhooked a plasma television.  The suspects then left with the TV in a dark colored vehicle.

Both suspects are described as black males in their late teens to early twenties.  One was of average height, while the other was shorter.  They both had on jackets and black ball caps.

CRIME STOPPERS CASE #826

FOR THE WEEK JUNE 29TH, 2008

The Wichita Police Department needs your help to solve a robbery and burglary that occurred at Lindsay Pharmacy.  On June 23rd around 10:00 am, a man entered the business at 2131 North Ridge Road and told the employees to give him all the OxyContin the pharmacy had.  The robber said he had a gun, but did not show it.  When the owner challenged the robber by displaying his handgun, the suspect ran out of the store and jumped into a maroon two-door vehicle.

Later that day, around 10:00 pm, the pharmacy was broken into by unknown person(s) cutting a hole in the roof and entering through the ceiling.  There was no loss, but the suspect(s) used a wheelchair to break out one of the windows.

The suspect in the robbery is described as a white male in his twenties, with a medium height and build.  He was wearing a gray stocking hat, baggy gray shirt and blue jeans.
