FOR THE WEEK JANUARY 25TH, 2009

A robber decides to check out cash instead of a room at a local hotel.  The evening of Monday, January 19th, a man walked into the lobby of the Best Western at 6815 West Kellogg.  He tapped the barrel of a handgun on the counter and told the clerk, “Get all your money”.  The robber pulled out a bag for the clerk to place the cash in.  He then ran off with the loot through the courtyard.

The suspect is described as an unknown race male of medium height and large build.  He was wearing a blue sweatshirt with a white hood, black ski mask, light colored pants, white shoes, and black gloves armed with a black semi-auto handgun.

CRIME STOPPERS CASE #903

FOR THE WEEK JANUARY 18TH, 2009

A man was beaten and robbed Tuesday, January 13th and police need your help.  Around midnight, a man was sitting behind the Burger King at 1051 North Broadway minding his own business when another man approached and demanded money and liquor.  The victim stated he did not have any, so the robber hit him and slammed his head up against the brick wall.  While the victim was unconscious, the suspect took his money.

The suspect is described as a black male of average height and thin build.  He was wearing a black jacket and had a wallet with a chain hooked to his pants.

CRIME STOPPERS CASE #902

FOR THE WEEK JANUARY 11TH, 2009

On Friday, December 26th, burglars broke into two pharmacies on the west side of town.  Around one o’clock in the morning they tried to pry open the front door of Lindsay Pharmacy at 2131 North Ridge Road.  The burglars set off the audible alarm and ran off before the police arrived.  At around 7:30 that evening, officers responded to an alarm at Preston Socora Pharmacy at 8200 West Central Avenue.  They found a side window that was broken out and it appeared that someone had reached into the business and stole a bottle of vitamins.

CRIME STOPPERS CASE #901

FOR THE WEEK JANUARY 4TH, 2009

The Rent-a-Center at 419 West 13th Street North was broken into on Thursday, December 25th.  Officers were dispatched to an audible alarm at the business early in the morning and found the front window had been broken out.  Someone had thrown a water main shutoff valve cover through the glass and stole a TV from inside the store.  Rental businesses have become a common target and we need your help in catching the culprits.
