FOR THE WEEK MAY 10TH, 2009
Just before midnight on Monday, May 4th, an elderly woman living in the 6100 block of East 12th Street was awakened by noises in her house. As she walked through the house, she found all of her lights on. She then called for the police when she saw muddy footprints on the carpet. It appears the burglars unscrewed the back porch lights then tried to pry open the rear sliding door and the kitchen window, but were not successful. They proceeded to break out one of the living room windows and crawl in through it. Even though they managed to go through a drawer in the spare bedroom, it appears the burglars did not make off with any loot.
If you have information about this burglary or any felony crime, call Crime Stoppers at 267-2111. You can also submit a tip online at www.wsccs.com or from your mobile phone by texting TIP217 then your message to CRIMES (274637). All ways are secure and anonymous.
