Two robbers knew exactly where to look for hidden money during a recent robbery.  Around 4 o’clock in the morning on Monday, November 30^th, two men entered the Johnson’s General Store at 5400 North Meridian.  When one of the suspects pointed a handgun at the clerk, he grabbed the gun and struggled with the gunman.  The other suspect then joined in and subdued the clerk.  One of the suspects held him at gunpoint while the other robber went straight for a cabinet where a bank bag with a large amount of cash was being stored.  The robbers ran out of the store with the loot towards the north side of the building.

Both suspects are described as black males in their 20’s having a medium height and build.  They were wearing black masks and black hooded sweatshirts.  One had black gloves while the other wore white socks on his hands.

FOR THE WEEK NOVEMBER 29TH, 2009

During the early morning hours of Sunday, October 25^th, unknown suspect(s) broke into Texas Roadhouse located at 6707 West Kellogg by cutting a hole through the wall at the back of the building.  The burglar(s) entered the office and cut a hole in the safe.  They were not able to get the safe open, but took some money by reaching in.  The damage is estimated at around $10,000.

The College Hill area has been the target of some burglars lately.  Between Friday, November 6^th, and Sunday, November 15^th, there have been five burglaries, all occurring in the early morning hours.  The houses hit have been on Pershing, Crestway, Belmont and Fountain.  Various items, including vehicles, were taken during the crimes.

On Wednesday, October 7^th, around 5 o’clock in the afternoon, fire crews were called to the Dollar General Store at 515 South Dugan.  After the fire was put out, arson investigators determined that it had been intentionally set.  The fire originated in the area of the store where the paper towels are displayed for purchase.  The damage is estimated at $200,000 to the structure and $300,000 to the contents.

FOR THE WEEK NOVEMBER 8TH, 2009

Around 2:00 pm on Monday, November 1^st, a shoplifter decided to make things worse for herself.  She had just stolen some mens shirts from Gordman’s at 7011 West Central and was running from loss prevention agents through the parking lot.  As they caught up to her, the suspect brandished a knife and told them that she was not going anywhere with them.  With the agents held at bay, the suspect jumped in to a dark colored two-door Saturn and left south on Ridge Road.

The suspect is described as a black female in her twenties with an average height and build.  She had red hair and was wearing a white shirt and blue jeans.

The Side Pockets bar was broken into during the early morning hours of Monday, October 26th. Someone used a pry tool to gain entry through the back door. With the use of a dolly, they wheel the safe out to the rear of the business and attempted to open it with a cutting tool. The burglars were unsuccessful at cracking open the safe, but they did make off with a large bucket full of quarters.

FOR THE WEEK OCTOBER 25TH, 2009

On Monday, October 19^th, close to midnight, two men barged into a house located in the 3400 block of East Osie through the unlocked front door.  The robbers forced the residents to the floor at gunpoint while they stole a TV, Playstation III and keys to one of their cars.  The suspects loaded up the loot into the victims’ 2001 maroon Toyota Camry and drove off to the east.

The first suspect is described as a black male in this 20’s having an average height and build.  He was wearing a white hooded sweatshirt and a red bandana over his face.

FOR THE WEEK OCTOBER 18TH, 2009

An employee of the Subway at 1001 North Broadway was taking his lunch break around 7:30 pm on Sunday, October 11^th.  A white male entered the restaurant, so the employee walked behind the counter to take his order.  The white male followed the employee behind the counter, grabbed him by the arm and placed an unknown object against his back.  The robber demanded money from the register.  The employee was unable to open it without a manager code, so the robber wanted the employee’s money instead.  The employee did not have any on him causing the frustrated robber to leave empty handed.

The suspect is described as being in his 20’s with an average height and heavy build.  He had grey hair, a couple days of facial hair growth and was wearing a blue jean jacket.

A car dealership is the latest victim of some car burglars.  Sometime between the evening of Saturday, October 3^rd and the morning of Monday, October 5^th, unknown person(s) broke into several cars at Auto Masters, located at 11323 West Kellogg.  They took the outside mirrors and remote from a Chevy pickup and stereos from Volkswagen and Chevy cars.

FOR THE WEEK OCTOBER 4TH, 2009

Early in the morning on Sunday, September 20^th, a landlord’s employee was staying in a residence in the 1300 block of North Lorraine while he was doing electrical work in the house.  Soon after going to bed for the night, he heard voices outside his bedroom window then someone started to break the windows.  The victim ran to the bathroom to hide.  After all the windows were broke out, one of the suspects kicked in the back door.  The victim ran out the front of the house and was grabbed by black male in the front yard.  Another black male came up from behind and hit him in the head with a wrench.  The victim got away and noticed that a white colored SUV with gold trim and nice rims was parked in front of the residence.

The first suspect is described as a black male in his 20’s, approximately 5’3”, 130 lbs wearing a red t-shirt and black pants.

The second suspect is described as a black male in his 30’s, approximately 5’11”, 220 lbs wearing a brown dress shirt and brown pants.

A third black male was seen in the white SUV as it drove off.
