CRIME STOPPERS CASE #1125

On Tuesday, June 7, between 8 and 8:30 p.m., two males attempted to abduct a 14- year- old female in the 22000 block of West 61st Street N. The men were driving an older model black truck with faded paint. The truck had dark tinted windows, a regular cab and a dent along the bottom of the driver’s door.  

Suspect 1, the driver, was a white male, 18-20 years old, dirty blond hair with long bangs and a pierced right ear with a diamond stud. He was wearing black gym shorts, a white cutoff shirt and tennis shoes.

Suspect 2, is a white male, 18-20 years old, 5’11 to 6′ tall, muscular build and brown hair. He was wearing a ball cap with the letters “ DC “ on it in white lettering, black and red gym shorts, a white cut off shirt and tan sandals.

CRIME STOPPERS CASE #1124

Sometime between Monday, May 30th at 9:30 A.M. and Tuesday, May 31st at 6:30 A.M. unknown person(s) broke into a construction trailer owned by North American Lafarge on a work site at 7300 E. Harry. The thieves took miscellaneous tools that included a Stihl Quiksaw, 2 water pumps, and various blades. The suspects also damaged the ignition to a work truck on site. The total loss is valued at $13,000.00 and an additional $1,000.00 in damage.

CRIME STOPPERS CASE #1123

The Wichita Police Department Homicide Section needs your help to solve a murder. On Saturday, May 28th , around 3:00 a.m. an Asian male got into an argument with three other Asian males in the parking lot of a restaurant located at Rock Road and Bluestem. The victim fled on foot, east across Rock Road on Bluestem being chased by the three suspects. The victim was shot multiple times and died at the scene. The suspects fled in a 4 door vehicle.

The description given of the suspects were 3 Asian males.

Crime Stoppers Case #1122

At approximately 9:00 p.m. on May 11, 2011 a woman was approached by an unidentified male while in her garage, threatened with a knife and assaulted. The woman lives in the Glen Hills Addition in Derby.

The suspect is described as a white male, 5’10″ to 6’, thin to medium build, wearing a black ski mask, black nylon jacket, tight black jeans, black high top tennis shoes and black gloves. He fled the scene on foot. No vehicle description is available.

CRIME STOPPERS CASE #1121

The Wichita Police Department’s Robbery Section is seeking information on a man believed to be responsible for a series of robberies last weekend.

On May 14 the Quik Trip at1610 E. Lincoln was robbed at 11:47 p.m., and on May 15 the Quik Trip at 3216 E. Harry was robbed, at 6 a.m. and the Dollar General Store at 2747 E. Boulevard Plaza at 8:10 a.m.

He is described as a black male in his 40s or 50s, 6′ to 6’2”, weighing between 190 and 200 pounds. He has short wavy hair, a mustache and glasses, and was wearing a green jacket, blue jeans and white shoes.

CRIME STOPPERS CASE #1120

Sometime between 11 p.m. on Saturday, May 7th and 1:30 a.m. on Sunday, May 8th a man was fishing at 3500 W. 21st Street N. under the bridge where the Arkansas River spillway empties into the Big Ditch. The man was knocked to the ground and stomped by 3 unknown males, breaking his jaw. The robbers took the victim’s cell phone and got into his vehicle taking his car stereo along with some other miscellaneous items.

CRIME STOPPERS CASE #1119

Sometime between Sunday, April 17, and Friday, April 29, an unknown person or persons removed 22 brass light fixtures from the landscaping in the round-about located at Riverside Park. The fixtures were bolted into the concrete. Total loss is valued at $22,000.

CRIME STOPPERS CASE #1118

In the very early hours of Sunday, April 17,  at least three unknown males pried open the rear door to Best Buy,2111 N. Rock Rd.Once inside, using their own bags, they took multiple I Mac laptops and accessories valued at more than $70,000.

The suspects were driving a white, late-model cargo van with a decal on the rear of both the passenger and driver’s side of the van.

CRIME STOPPERS CASE #1117

The Wichita Police Dept. and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms are investigating an explosion that occurred on Saturday, April 16 around 3 a.m. The explosion was set off intentionally on Water Street under the Kellogg overpass. The explosive device was made using a fire extinguisher, plastic jugs, and black powder. Shrapnel from the explosion traveled over 500 feet from the point of detonation and lodged into the side of a nearby hotel. There was no one injured and the amount of damage is undetermined at this time

Law Enforcement is asking for assistance from anyone that might have seen someone in the area carrying a fire extinguisher. The suspect may have possibly suffered burns from being near the blast radius at the time of detonation.

CRIME STOPPERS CASE #1116

Between March 14, 2011 and April 7, 2011 copper wire thieves struck the north part of Sedgwick County 4 times. The thieves damaged multiple utility and communication lines, stripping them of the copper wire. In one instance a chainsaw was used to cut down the utility poles prior to stripping them. The thefts took place in the areas of K-96 and 151st St. West, on 77th St. North between Greenwich and 127th St. East, and on 61st St. North in the east 2900 and 3800 blocks. The suspect (s) made off with over 2200 feet of copper wire valued at over $8000.00 and causing over $4000.00 in damage.

 A suspect was witnessed committing one of the thefts and is described as a white male, 5’10, 160 pounds, short dark hair and a mole or similar mark on their face. The suspect was driving a late model, four door, dark green Honda or Acura with a low profile spoiler. The driver’s side headlight was hanging out.
